Title of the bachelor's degree course: Rural Development Engineering BSc

Duration in semesters: 6+1 semesters both full-time and part-time

  • Rural tourism (dependent on headcount)
  • Rural development (dependent on headcount)

The objectives of the training: to train agricultural engineers for rural development who are capable of carrying out organisational, management, administrative, logistical and production tasks related to production, services and consultancy. With the knowledge of agricultural science, economics, management, farm management, analytical and advisory services, agricultural trade, agricultural marketing, environmental protection, regional and territorial knowledge, and the knowledge of the interrelationships between the agricultural economy and the tasks of the administration, they are able to carry out professional work in accordance with the requirements of the labour market. They have the necessary skills to interpret rural development in accordance with EU standards and to design and implement rural development programmes. 

The course is also available on a full-time dual training basis.

After graduation, you have the option of starting our MSc in Rural Development Engineering with full credit transfer, or you can take partial credit transfer to our MSc in Horticulture.

Depending on the subject, the semester can be completed by passing a colloquium (with a five-point grade), a practical grade (with a five-point grade) or a signatory.  Method of assessment: final examination, online test, homework, design assignments, presentations, etc.

The prerequisite for the award of Absolutorium (final certificate): completion of the study and examination requirements set out in the curriculum, the required internships and all the credits set out in the curriculum.

Prerequisites for admission to the final examination: obtaining the final certificate (diploma), submission and acceptance of the thesis/dissertation, application for the final examination. Successful completion of the final examination is a prerequisite for the award of a diploma certifying the completion of higher education studies.

Graduates of the BSc in Rural Development Engineering can find employment in: institutions, organisations and companies involved in the development of rural areas; agricultural enterprises; institutions and organisations with specialised administrative and advisory functions.
