Courses accepted as prerequisites for entry to the Master's programme

  • Courses can be taken into account for full credits: rural development agricultural engineering, agricultural engineering, economic and rural development agricultural engineering, informatics and professional management agricultural engineering.
  • Upon completion of specified credits, the following may be considered in particular: additional bachelor's degree courses in the field of agriculture, bachelor's degree courses in the fields of economics, natural sciences and social sciences.
  • In addition, bachelor's and master's degree programmes and programmes under Act LXXX of 1993 on Higher Education may be taken into account upon completion of specified credits, which are accepted by the credit transfer committee of the higher education institution on the basis of a comparison of the knowledge on which the credit is based.

Objectives of the training: to train agricultural engineers in rural development who, with the knowledge they have acquired, will supervise the production, distribution and control processes that ensure the optimal use of resources, as well as the organisation and management of production and services. They will have a detailed knowledge of the specific features of the functioning of rural and territorial development in Europe and Hungary (the role of agriculture in maintaining and developing the countryside) and the reasons for these specific features. They are suitable for positions as planning and development engineers, researchers and managers. They are prepared to continue their studies at doctoral level.

Depending on the subject, the semester can be completed by passing a colloquium (with a five-point grade), a practical grade (with a five-point grade) or a signature.  Method of assessment: final examination, online tests, homework, design assignments, presentations, etc.

Prerequisites of obtaining the diploma: completion of the study and examination requirements set out in the curriculum, the required internships and all the credits set out in the curriculum.

Prerequisites of being admitted to the final examination: obtaining the final certificate (diploma), submission and acceptance of the thesis/dissertation, application for the final examination. Successful completion of the final examination is a prerequisite for the award of a diploma certifying the completion of higher education studies.

Graduates of the MSc in Agricultural Engineering for Rural Development can find employment at: institutions, organisations and companies involved in the development of rural areas; agricultural enterprises; institutions and organisations with specialised administrative and advisory functions. After graduation, they can also continue their studies in a doctoral school.
